Douglas W. McMillan, D.D.S.
Dr. McMillan was born in Hendersonville, NC and has always had an affection for the mountains of Western North Carolina. After high school, Dr. McMillan earned a degree in Biochemistry from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. After his undergraduate training, Dr. McMillan went to Clemson University where he earned a Master's Degree in Chemistry. After his Master's Degree, he attended the University of Michigan School of Dentistry where he graduated in 1999 with his DDS degree. Since graduation, Dr. McMillan has completed the Maxi Course in Implant Dentistry and also completed training in Botox and Facial Aesthetics, Cosmetic Dentistry and Fixed Prosthodontics.
Dr. McMillan has been married for 27 years to his wife Denise and they have two sons, Campbell and Matthew. Dr. McMillan's favorite hobbies are cooking, hiking, biking, and weight training. Dr. McMillan also loves travel and doing Continuing Education in Dentistry.
Brian D. West, D.M.D.
Dr. West is our Periodontist that joins us one day a month from Nashville, TN, to treat our complex surgical and periodontal patient needs.
Dr. Brian West began his career in Periodontics in 1995, joining the Nashville Periodontal Group, where he continues to serve today. He graduated from Ripley High School in Ripley, Mississippi in 1985. He then attended the University of Mississippi where he pursued degrees in both Biology and English. Dr. West left Ole Miss to attend the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry. It was while at dental school, that he was exposed to the specialty of periodontics. Showing great propensity in the field, he won the Dental College’s President’s award in periodontics for excellence in periodontics as a dental student. During his time in Dental school, he served as President of the Student Government and multiple other offices. He graduated from dental school in 1993. Upon completing his Dental degree, he continued his training, receiving his specialist certificate in Periodontics in 1995 from UAB School of Dentistry.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, Southern Academy of Periodontology, Nashville Dental Society, and various local dental study clubs. He has served as an officer in the Southern Academy of Periodontology, as well as the Nashville Dental Society. Dr. West has served as Chairman of the Board of the Interfaith Dental Clinic in Nashville, a charity clinic for the working poor, where he volunteers his time and expertise once a month to this day.
Dr. West has been married for over thirty years to his wife, Joanna. They have two children, a daughter Rachel (Austin, TX) and a son William (Huntersville, NC). Brian and Joanna live in Brentwood, Tennessee and enjoy their visits to North Carolina.
Dr. West has been specifically trained to diagnose and treat periodontal disease. He utilizes the LANAP Laser Treatment for gum disease, performs extractions prior to placement of implants, dental implants to replace missing teeth, and gum grafting to correct sensitivity and recession.
Traci King, R.D.H.
Traci has been a Registered Dental Hygienist since 1992 and has worked in our office with Dr. Tomlo for over 20 years. She is excited to continue caring for her current patients, as well as the addition of new patients, alongside Dr. McMillan. She is dedicated to helping patients achieve dental health through both regular cleanings and teaching proper home care techniques.
She was born in Florida but moved to Hendersonville as a child. She and her husband, Doug, have a grown daughter and son and are looking forward to the addition of their daughter-in-law later this year. She enjoys cooking and spending time with her family and dogs.
Lori Moss, R.D.H.
Lori has been a Registered dental hygienist for over 30 years and loves working in dentistry. She Practices Comprehensive and gentle dental care to all patients. Passionate about educating patients about their oral care and how it impacts their overall health and well being. Lori and her husband are natives of Henderson County they have four grown children and have deep ties to this community. In addition to spending time with family and friends she enjoys being outdoors, running, hiking and waterskiing.
